Cats

The quiet joy of a window seat.

Beside a bright window, a cat follows the small changes outside. The view from across the room is worth watching too.

From across the room, a cat at the window can look almost still. Up close, there's more to see: an ear turns toward a sound outside, or the head follows a leaf blowing past the glass.

The seat fills with light as the sun moves around the house. A narrow strip reaches the edge of the cushion, then the cat's front paws. You might be at the table nearby, working through something of your own. Every so often, you look up and follow the cat's gaze.

A shadow crosses the window. The cat sits up, watches for a moment, then settles again. From your place at the table, you can see one ear above the sill.
